Leisure Dome Bucharest S.R.L. was founded by George Barbulescu, a seasoned engineer and project leader born in Romania in 1959 and educated at the Technical University of Bucharest. Since moving to the Netherlands in 1989, George has played a leading role in some of the most significant national projects, including the Master Plans for Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, The Hague Central Station, Utrecht Central Station, and Amsterdam Central Station—key hubs where business and people converge.
Building in a nest of snakes
A member of the Royal Dutch Institute of Engineers and a registered European Engineer with FEANI, George’s expertise is internationally recognized. His innovative approach to project management has been acknowledged through his co-founding of the Think Tank Project NL (2008-2017) and his “Schengen Lounge 1” project at Schiphol Airport, which was named a "Project Example" by the Dutch Government. In 2009, US Global Gaming Business Magazine identified him as one of the "25 People to Watch In The World," and the EU Parliament recognized his "Innovative Entrepreneurship" for his work on the Leisure Dome Bucharest project.

Known for his leadership in sustainable urban development, George regularly conducts seminars and symposia on managing complex projects that deliver both quantitative and qualitative benefits for communities. With decades of experience, his motto remains: “Building in a Nest of Snakes”—reflecting his determination to thrive in challenging environments and transform ambitious visions into reality.
